KARLENE ELIZABETH SCALES
ABBOT- Karlene Elizabeth Scales, 84, died January 8, 2009, at the Merriman House in North Conway, NH, where she had been battling Alzheimers. She was born December 20, 1924, daughter of Carl and Nina Blanchard. Karlene lived most of her life in the Guilford and Abbot area. For the past 9 years she has lived with her son and his wife, John and Connie Scales in Stark, NH. She liked being called “Grammie Butchie”, and being outdoors with her favorite “hat of the day”. She enjoyed having her cats and dogs around her, and in her later years especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Nikki and her great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, John D. Scales Sr.; her granddaughter, Brandi Scales; 2 sisters, Rachel Ordway, and Barbara Mason; and a brother, Sheldon Blanchard.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John and Connie Scales of Stark, NH; a granddaughter, Nikki Monley and her husband Jason of Lancaster , NH; great grandchildren, Baylee Monley, Rylee Monley, and Nolan Monley; 2 brothers, Reginald Blanchard of Holiday, FL, and Kenneth Blanchard of San Antonio, TX.
