KENNETH R. WATSON
HARMONY – Kenneth R. Watson, 80, died peacefully February 23, 2003 at Hibbard’s Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born November 30, 1922 at Cambridge the son of Roy and Georgia (Thurston) Watson. He graduated from Harmony High School, Class of 1940 and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Ken, like many others of his generation, led a full, simple Christian life. He married the former Emma Chadbourne, also of Harmony. For many years, he, together with Ray Chadbourne, operated their garage in Harmony, from which Ken retired in 1981. He served as fire chief for the Town of Harmony for 28 years. He will be remembered for his long association and participation with the First Baptist Church in Harmony.

In addition to his wife Emma, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and John Gilbert of St. Albans; his beloved grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Snowden. Ken is survived by three brothers: Richard and his wife Lenora, Bernard and his wife Clara, Daniel and his wife Juanita. His brother Hugh predeceased him. He was part of a large extended family including nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, February 27th,at the First Baptist Church of Harmony with the Rev. Thomas Izon officiating. Graveside committal services will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, May 29th, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cambridge, with the Rev. Thomas Izon officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Expansion Fund, P.O. Box 5, Harmony, ME 04942.
