LALA J. MCGOWEN
DEXTER - Lala J. McGowen, 101, went to be with her Lord June 14, 2001 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born April 27, 1900, in Bancroft, daughter of George and Angeline (DeLong) McCormack. She graduated from Houlton High School class of 1919. She was a member of First Free Baptist Church in Dexter. She was predeceased by her husband Frank McGowen and a great grandson, Jason Ogden.

She is survived by and will be sadly missed by two sons, James Thornton McGowen of Pittsfield and Clive McGowen and his wife Lorraine of Troy; twodaughters, Vivian Russell and Joyce and her husband James Wintle all of Dexter; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday June 19that the First Free Baptist Church in Dexter with Rev. Harold Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland. Refreshments will be served at the church following the service.
