LAWRENCE H. ERSKINE, SR.
NEWPORT – Lawrence H. Erskine, Sr., 88, died December 30, 2004 at a Brewer rehabilitation center. He was born January 31, 1916 in Plymouth a son of William and Lavon (Edminister) Erskine. Larry was a truck driver for Guilford Industries and General Electric Company.

He is survived by 2 sons, Larry, Jr. and wife Jan of Oklahoma, Ronald Erskine and wife Pam of Newport; 2 daughters, Debra Cote of Florida, Sarah Jernigan and husband Rob of Hermon; 4 brothers, William Roger Erskine, Elton “Dick” Erskine James Erskine and Robert Erskine, all of Dixmont; a sister, Esther Winship of Unity; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a dear friend, Janet Kaufman. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Flora (Malcolm) Erskine, a sister Eunice Norris, a grandson, Larry Dean Erskine, and special friend, Maurice Waite.

Friends may call from 2-5 PM Sunday, January 2nd, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, January 3rd, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating.
