LEE D. BELOTE
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Lee D. Belote, 64, husband of Jayne (Callahan) Belote, died unexpectedly March 3, 2003, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born April 16, 1938, in Sturgis, Mich., the son of Hazel Kline. A U.S. Navy veteran, Lee had moved to Maine in 1964. He was a retired lineman, working for New England Telephone for 37 years. In 1965 he received the Theodore Vail Award for saving a co-worker's life in Caribou. Lee was an avid sportsman, and especially enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing. He was a proud supporter of Foxcroft Academy football.

Lee is survived by his wife, Jayne, of Dover-Foxcroft; five sons, Travis Belote of Winslow, Tom Tash of Dover-Foxcroft, Matthew Belote of Portland, Christopher Belote of York, Geoffrey Belote of Bangor; two daughters, Tatum Belote of Dover-Foxcroft, Amy Belote of Ellsworth; a sister, Kathy Mohney of Sturgis, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003, at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, with Rev. Kenneth Dale officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
