LESTER W. BITGOOD
ETNA - Lester W. Bitgood, 86, died unexpectedly May 9, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 22, 1915 at Westerly, Rhode Island. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Lester was a member of the Masonic Order. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be remembered as a kind and loving family man.

He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Lang) Bitgood on December 23, 1997, and by a brother William. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Laureen of Etna; four grandchildren, Kim and her fiancée William Merrill of Stetson, Nicole and her boyfriend J.R. of Etna, Jamie and wife Michelle Bitgood of Madison, Chad Bitgood and fiancée Misty Butcher of Old Town; 7 great grandchildren, Katie, Kendrah, Willy, Zachary, Tricia, Cole and Austin.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, May 12th, 2001 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 1 P.M. until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna.
