LINWOOD C. JONES
DETROIT – Linwood Clifton Jones, 76, went to be with the Lord following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 8, 1931 at Pittsfield a son of Clifton Linwood and Myrtle L. (Hicks) Jones. He served as a Sergeant with the 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army, during the Korean War. On October 12, 1953 he married the former Joyce Temple. He retired as a purchasing agent for San Antonio Shoe in Pittsfield. Linwood enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Linwood is survived by a daughter, Rita and husband Robert Hastey of Newport; a son, Linwood Eric Jones of Detroit; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Daniel, and two brothers, Robert and Edward.

A celebration of his life will be held 6 PM Thursday, October 11th, at the Detroit Night Drifters Snowmobile Club. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may sign an on-line guest register at www.CrosbyNeal.com
