OBITUARIES

MADELYN E. CAMPBELL
ABBOT, Madelyn E. Campbell, 83, died February 7, 2002 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born April 9, 1918 in Abbot, daughter of Max and Mary (Pooler) Leeman. She graduated from Abbot High School class, of 1936 and attended nurses training at Eastern Maine General in Bangor. Madelyn lived in Greenville, Bath and then moved back to the family farm where she was born in Abbot. She worked at Buxton's Store in Abbot and later for many years at Goulette's IGA in Guilford. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, the American Legion Auxiliary in Abbot and the United Methodist Church in Guilford. For the past couple of years Madelyn has lived at the Dexter Health Care Facility and has enjoyed the excellent care of the nurses and staff. She was predeceased by her husband, George C. Campbell in 1975 and a brother, Kenneth who died in infancy.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Sharon and John McKusick of Abbot; 4 grandchildren; Kenneth and his wife, Christine McKusick of Guilford, Robert McKusick of North Carolina, Charles McKusick and Kathleen McKusick of Abbot; 2 great grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel of Guilford.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford, with the Rev. Dr. Margaret “Dodie” Stowe officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 pm until the time of the service. Spring burial will be held 11 am Tuesday May 21, 2002, at the Village Cemetery in Abbot with the Rev. Dr. Margaret “Dodie” Stowe officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the Abbot Historical Society, Janice McAllister, Treas., P.O. Box 105, Abbot, ME 04406.
