MAE "PEG" PARSONS
NEWPORT - Mae “Peg” Parsons, 94, died September 3, 2003 at a Pittsfield healthcare center. She was born September 26, 1908 at Fredrickton, New Brunswick, the daughter of Harry and Susan (Dow) Rowney. She was a charter member of the Newport Business and Professional Women’s Club and past Worthy Matron of the Nokomis Chapter #42, Order of The Eastern Star of Newport. Peg worked in the offices of W. H. Cummings Mill in Newport, J. R. Cianchette, and Forest Frederick Contractors, in Pittsfield. She had attended the High Street Congregational Church in Newport.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith P. Rice of Palmyra; a grandson, Lt. Colonel Jeffrey F. Rice, and his wife Kelley of Boca Raton, Florida; and a great granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Rice.

Friends may call from 6 to 7 P.M. Saturday, September 6th, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at 7 P.M. with the Officers of Nokomis Chapter # 42 OES officiating.
