MALCOLM V. "MICKEY" TRAFTON
He graduated from P.C.H.S. class of 1958. He worked in construction his whole life and in 1975 he purchased equipment and operated his own construction company. In 1986 he and his wife Barbara started a popular general store and eatery called Trafton's Family Affair in Abbot.
The happiest days of his life were spent boating on Moosehead Lake, fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends and family. Mickey's favorite title was "Boppa". He was a member of Mt. Kineo Masonic Lodge #109, was a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Anah Temple Shrine.
He is survived by his mother of Dover-Foxcroft; his wife, Barbara (Schultz) Trafton of Abbot; 4 daughters, Susan and Todd Daigle, Peggy and Charles Cleaves, Laurie and Chuck Martell, and Julie and Ben Dawkins; grandchildren, Joshua and Courtney Smith of Lincoln, Jessica Smith of NY, Jerrod and Erin Smith of AZ, Hillary and Barrett Starbird and Tobey Cleaves, all of Sangerville, Jillian Martell of Guilford, Emily & Hannah Dawkins of Gray, and Erin and Josh Clark of VT; great grandchildren, Cayleigh Rae Smith, Reese and Carter Starbird.
He was predeceased by his father; a brother, Roland; and an infant brother, Ronald.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Friday, February 19, 2010, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, at the Guilford United Methodist Church with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the Abbot Playground Fund, c/o Abbot Town Office, P.O. Box 120, Abbot, ME 04406, or to Hospice, Community Health and Counseling, 1093 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
