MARCELLUS D. ZENGER
CORINNA – Marcellus D. Zenger, 90, died July 7, 2002 at a Pittsfield health care facility. He was born August 14, 1911 at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania a son of Simon and Theresa (Deibler) Zenger. He graduated from Covington (PA) High School, Class of 1929, and was employed by the Grange League Federation of Ithaca, New York, supplying member garages with various petroleum products. During World War II, Marcellus served as a corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an airplane and engine crew chief.

He is survived by his wife, Marian (Virgie) Jacobson Zenger of Corinna; a son, Alan and wife JoAn Zenger of Shelton, Washington; 2 step-daughters, Shirley and husband Earl Hartley of Corinna, Gayle and husband Frank Verock of Acton; a step-son Phillip and wife Jane Jacobson of Portland; several step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

There will be no local services at his request. Burial will be in Hobart, New York. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport.
