MARGARET A. GAVETT
Surviving are two sons, Linwood and his wife, Betty Parsons, of Lincoln; Bill Parsons of Davie, Fla.; one daughter, Joan and her husband, Clark Sands, of Garland; eight grandchildren, Denise Long, Lisa Tardif, Danny Copeland, Margaret Parsons, Richard Parsons, Linda Flanders, Nancy Burrill and Douglas Parsons; six step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold and his wife, Cecelia Priest, of Middleboro, Mass.; three sisters, Hilda Lankist of Guilford, Shirley Carlson of Hermon, Ethel Hersey of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin P. Gavett. Her daughter, Joan and husband Clark had lived with Margaret for the past 15 months, and were her primary care-takers since the passing of her husband, Frank. In this capacity, Joan had become extremely close to her mother and will miss her dearly. Margaret enjoyed the daily crosswords and the challenge of beating son, Linwood in solving them. Son, Bill will always treasure the memories of what a great home-maker and loving mother she was. Granddaughters, Denise and Lisa were particularly devoted to their grandmother, manifested in the care and attention lavished upon her.
Now finally free from so many years of pain and discomfort, may she rest in peace. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St. Brewer, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, officiating. Interment will be at Pine Tree Cemetery, Eddington.
