MARJORIE (PATCHELL) WHITLEY
NEWPORT – Marjorie Whitley, 86, died April 1, 2006 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born April 17, 1919 at Garfield Plantation, a daughter of Charles and Hazel (Clayton) Patchell. She attended Newport schools, and on December 24, 1935, married Herbert Whitley. She had been employed at Banton’s Mills in Newport. Marjorie was a member of the Newport Jubilee Family Worship Center and Newport Senior Citizens.

She is survived by 4 sons, Herbert, Jr. of Pittsfield, Norman of Norway, Maine, Donald of Lincoln, and Paul of Gardiner; 2 daughters, Faye Dunn and Joan Howard, both of Jacksonville, Florida; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Herb Whitley Sr.; a sister, Marie Boylan; and 3 brothers, George, Claude, and John.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, April 4th, at the Newport Jubilee Worship Center, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 5th, with Pastor Carl Engstrom officiating.
