OBITUARIES

MARY A. FLYNN
DEXTER—Mary A. Flynn, 103, died November 19, 2010 at a Dexter nursing home. She was born August 15, 1907 in Providence, Rhode Island, the adopted daughter of Andrew and Georgianna (Higgins) Flynn. She arrived in her adopted home on the orphan train in 1910.

Mr. and Mrs. Flynn selected her from a group of babies arriving from Rhode Island at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She graduated from N. H. Fay High School, Class of 1926 and graduated from the St. Luke’s Nurses Hospital Training in Pittsfield, MA . Mary was employed as a Red Cross nurse, industrial nurse at Fay Scott, and ended her career as a hospital administrator at Plummer Memorial Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, the town of Dexter’s oldest resident, and an honorary member of the GFWC/Dexter Women’s Literary Club.

Mary is survived by several cousins; and special friends Rick and Joy Killfoile of Pittsfield, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 24th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter with the Rev. Fr. Kent Ouellette officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.

In lieu of flowers , memorial donations may be made to St. Anne’s Catholic Church, P. O. Box 193, Dexter, ME 04930 or to the Dexter Women’s Literary Club, 130 Crockett Road, Dexter, ME 04930.
