MAY L. (ELWELL) JOHNSON
Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on October 22, 1921, May was the daughter of the late Percy and Annie Rose (Trumball) Elwell. She was a sweet-natured woman who taught her family the meaning of courage and love. She loved poetry, clothes fresh from the line, her dog Frizzles and bone china teacups. She and her husband were members of the Cape Ann Bible Church in Gloucester, which was for many years, the center of their lives.
In addition to her husband, May is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald E. and Gael,who were her faithful care-givers for several years in Dixmont; her daughter Ruthanne Collinson of Lanesville, Mass, her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Troy Tucker of Port Charlotte, Florida; grandchildren, Gael Johnson, Sam, Suzanna and Caitlin Collinson, and Tyler Tucker.
She is also survived by four sisters, Lois Kinsella of Wenham, Mass, Anne Brown and Marion Dillard, bothof Port Charlotte, Florida and Barbara Anderson of Gloucester, Mass.May also leaves many nephews and nieces and her caregivers at Sebasticook Valley Health CareFacility.
She was predeceased by her cherished grandson Ronald, Jr., sisters Bernice Elwell and Louise Pacheco, as well as brothers John B. Elwell and Percy Elwell, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating.Friends may call from 1 P.M. until the time of services.A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at the family lot, Seaside Cemetery, Lanesville, Mass.
