Merton W. Carr He proudly served in the US Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a logger and later as a caretaker in the Falmouth area for many years. He was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude (Blethen) Carr; 5 brothers, all of whom also served in the military; a sister; and 2 sons, Randall and Rexford. He is survived by 3 loving daughters, Teresa and her husband, Chuck Talbot, Cheri and her husband, Randy Wentworth all of Abbot, and Roxanne Holmbom of Greenville; 6 grandchildren, Joshua, Lucas and his wife, Kati, Melissa, Stephanie, Hannah, and Allyson; 7 great grandchildren, Hannah, Dylan, Gabe, Gracie, Beau, Makayla, and Jaydon; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a special friend, his dog, Murphy. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, May 18th, at the Abbot Village Cemetery, Main Road in Abbot, with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. GREENVILLE- Merton W. Carr, 78, died April 19, 2013, at C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville, surrounded by his family. He was born September 26, 1934, in Abbot, the son of Clifton and Florence (Glidden) Carr.
