OBITUARIES

MICHAEL SCOTT CURTIS
SANGERVILLE - Michael Scott Curtis, 46, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft.

He was born Aug. 11, 1965, in Bangor, son of Arnold Curtis of Ripley, and Crystal Tripp Saunders and her husband, Byron Saunders, of Lincoln.

He is also survived by his loving wife, Margaret Jean (Poulin) Curtis of Sangerville; two daughters, Chelsey and Cassie Curtis of Dover-Foxcroft; brothers, James Curtis of Dover-Foxcroft and wife, Erica, Norman Curtis of New Hampshire, and Lorenzo "Mark" Vicente of Oakfield and wife, Nicole; aunts, Laurel, Marilyn, Carolyn, Susan, Pamela and Denise; uncle, Everett; many nieces and nephews; Mayo Regional Ambulance Crew, Piscataquis County Sheriff's Department co-workers and many brother firefighters.

Michael graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1984, then went on to study law enforcement at Bangor Community College. He was employed at Pride Manufacturing, Guilford, and Dover-Foxcroft Water District before devoting his career to public service. He served as a proud member of Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department, Sangerville Fire Department, Mayo Regional Hospital emergency medical service team and Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office; as well as serving with the Dover-Foxcroft, Milo and Greenville police departments.

Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Townhouse Cemetery, Sangerville, with Pastor Ray Beless officiating.
