NORMA J. RICH
NEWPORT - Norma Jean (Teeney) Rich, 74, died December 23, 2009 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born January 2, 1935 in Searsmont, a daughter of Joseph and Bernice (Greer) Teeney. She was valedictorian of her class at Morse Memorial High School in Brooks. Norma was employed as a bookkeeper for many years at Staples Oil Company (Unity and Pittsfield), Beacon Motors in Bangor and retired from Webber Oil Company. She loved the outdoors and will be remembered as an avid walker. She always kept her yard in immaculate condition, was an avid reader, seamstress and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in ink. She was a member of the Clueless Quilters Club.

Norma was predeceased by her first husband, Henry Cunningham, Jr.; her second husband, Buren Rich; a sister, Joyce Crosby; and a grand-daughter, Laura Ann.

She is survived by her children, Larry Teeney and girlfriend Peggy Morang of Burnham, Marcia and husband Robert Johnston of Palmyra, Melissa Wilkins of Pittsfield, Bradley Cunningham of Woodstock, NH, Michael and wife Christine Cunningham of New Braunfels, Texas; and a step-daughter, Linda and husband Michael McNally of Fort Myers, FL; her siblings, Wayne Teeney and wife Janice of Searsport, Wenda Brown of Canaan, Maxine and husband Charles Curtis of Belfast; 2 sisters in law, Patricia Neally (and husband Frederick) and Phyllis Larby, all of Troy; grandchildren, Sue Ann, Tiffany, Lisa, Larry, Jr. Johnathan, Thomas, Heather, Shannon, Chelsea, Erica, Patrick; and great grandchildren, Brandon, Celia, and Drake; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, December 28th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Spring burial will be in Rose Cemetery, Brooks. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 170 U. S. Route 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, ME 04105. Graveside committal services for Norma Jean Rich, who died December 23, 2009, will be held 1 PM Thursday, April 29th, at the Rose Cemetery, Brooks, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
