ODELE D. "JEANNETTE" LEWIS
DEXTER, Odele D. “Jeannette” Lewis, 92, passed away February 24, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor after a long battle with lung cancer and many major medical complications. She was born January 24, 1910 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the oldest child of Charles and Odila (Tetreault) St. Germain. Her beloved family was the most important thing in her life; she said, “a mother’s job is to keep the family together,” and it was with great pride she boasted that she had done her job well. She touched the hearts of those who knew her, and she was loved by all.

She is survived by her children, Jeannette (Gould-Lewis) Merrill of Skowhegan, Hubert R. Lewis Sr. and his wife, Ethel of Abbot, Betty-Lou Lewis of Bangor, Charlene and her husband, W. “Randy” Randall of Bangor, Ralph Edward Lewis of Frenchboro and Clarence “CC” Lewis and his wife, Theresa of Manchester, Connecticut; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, many wonderful friends including Marguerite and Eddie Carr and Anita Ducas of Dexter; special friends, Mary C. Davis of Bangor and Dot Munson of Glenburn. She was predeceased by her first and second husbands, Alfred Gould and Harold A.O. Lewis; an infant son, Charles Edward Gould; brothers, Raymond and Edward St. Germain; sister, Alice Hebert; stepdaughter, Lena Savage and stepson, Harold Lewis.

Visitation will be from 10-11 am Tuesday February 26, 2002, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter, followed by funeral services at 11 am. Spring burial is being held at 1:30 p.m., May 24 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
