MILO - Paul R. Demerski, 56, died Dec. 31, 2001, at his home in Milo, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 12, 1945, in North Hampton, Mass., the son of Joseph W. and Clarissa D. (White) Demerski.Paul had worked as a woodcutter for 38 years in the Maine woods. Paul's passion was to be in the outdoors, where he felt free and alive. Paul was always willing to help out a friend in need.

In addition to his mother of North Hampton, Mass., he is survived by two brothers, Francis J. Demerski of Sturbridge, Mass., Kenneth Demerski of Springfield, Mass.; one sister, Linda L. Valasik of East Hampton, Mass.; three nieces, Regina Garvin, May Zachowski, Michelle Demerski; and one nephew, Robert Demerski. He will be sadly missed by many friends, including special friends, Keith Bridges and Delores Doble. He will also be remembered by his best friend, Ace, his dog. He was predeceased by a nephew, Karl.

Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, with the Rev. David McLeish officiating. A spring interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
