PHYLLIS I. PRATT
GUILFORD, Phyllis I. Pratt, 84, died March 21, 2005 at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born February 28, 1921, in Camden, the daughter of Willie and Mabel (Mansel) Handy Vaughn. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She belonged to the Rebekah Lodge. She loved to crochet and make many doilies and afghans for her family. Phyllis also enjoyed writing cards and letters to her many friends and family members.

She is survived by a half brother and is wife, Francis and Paula Handy of Texas; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and nephew, Nathalee and Floyd Marsh of Guilford, who cared for her for many years; 3 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Vance Pratt of Guilford, Mrs. Dorothy Speed of Atkinson and Mrs. Eleanor Fuller of Massachusetts. Phyllis was predeceased by a half brother, William Handy of California.

There will be a committal service in the spring at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. As Phyllis loved children, in lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the Don Osborne Playground Fund, c/o the Abaris Club Treasurer, Pam Speed, P.O. Box 645, Guilford, ME 04443. Graveside committal services for Phyllis will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday April, 29, 2005, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter, with the Rev. David Kelly officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
