HARTLAND, Ralph C. Hilton, 92, died June 21, 2001 at a Pittsfield health care facility. He was born January 2, 1909 at Portland the son of Alfred and Mabel (Philbrook) Hilton. He graduated from Hartland Academy, Class of 1923 and worked for many years at the Hartland Tannery. He was well known for his artistic abilities, his love of, knowledge, and drawings of boxing, his chair caning skills, and his knowledge of history, especially that of World War II. Ralph was predeceased by his family, including his wife Molly, who died February 10, 1997.

He will be sadly missed by his friend and guardian, Raymond Murray, his wife Ethel and family.

Friends may call from 2-3 P.M. Sunday, June 24th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. Private committal services will be at St. Albans Village Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Parker officiating.
