Rena M. Tardy
NEWPORT—Rena M. Tardy, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 20, 2012 at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 28, 1926 in Newport, a daughter of Raymond and Myrtle (Ware) Emerson, Sr. On August 25, 1946, she married Raymond K. Tardy. They were happily married for 59 years.

Rena graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1943. She spent most of her life doing what she enjoyed most, caring for her family, and doing church work which included teaching Sunday School for over 30 years. She also loved visiting and serving others. She was a member of High Street Congregational Church in Newport, attended Calvary Baptist Church in Newport, and currently attended Calvary Baptist Church in Brewer, where she was a member of the Wednesday Ladies Bible Study.

She is survived by a son, James and wife Robin of LaGrange; 2 daughters, Debra Tardy of Bangor and Linda and husband Donald Arey of Brewer; a grandson, Edward and wife Carol Arey; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ray on October 22, 2005, her son Kenneth on October 8, 2008, her grandson Sean Arey on February 28, 2001, and 5 siblings.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 P. M. Monday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held at 1 P. M. Tuesday, September 25th, at Calvary Baptist Church, 61 State Street, Brewer, with Pastors Roger Davis and George Finnemore officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
