GUILFORD- Richard A. "Beetle" Nesbit, 77, died October 11, 2010, at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, after a short battle with cancer. He was born June 6, 1933, son of Walter and Callie (Dority) Nesbit.

He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and had been a member of the Sangerville American Legion Post #165 for 37 years. He worked for Pride Mfg. in Guilford for many years. Beetle was still working, both as a janitor for the Maine Highland's Federal Credit Union in Dover-Foxcroft, and delivering the Bangor Daily News. He served as a fireman with the Guilford Fire Dept. for 43 years, and enjoyed playing golf and walking with his many friends. We will all remember him running around town in his favorite little red Volkswagen.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Jo Nesbit of Guilford, and Lois Taylor of Bangor; nieces and nephews, Storie, Steve, Andy, Tracie, Wendi, and Troy; and a special cousin, Jane York, who was close to him in his final days.

A celebration of Beetle's life will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, October 17, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Guilford, with Rev. Stephen Dean officiating. Private burial will be in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford.
