RICHARD L. OLIVER
Richard L. Oliver 63 died June 28, 2005 at his Plymouth residence following a period of ill health. He was born in Hartford, Conn. Sept. 4, 1941 the son of Stanley and Mary (Smith) Dunakin. He was a graduate of Newport High School and the University of Maine. Dick was a junior high school math teacher for 32 years for the M.S.A.D. # 48 school system retiring in June of 1995. He married Rebecca Snowman on Jan. 17, 1975 in Newport. He was an avid outdoorsman especially enjoying hunting, fishing and tending his garden. For the past several years he has enjoyed his trips to Labrador to hunt, fish, and watch the abundant wild life. He always enjoyed riding around the Plymouth area watching for deer and turkeys. He was a 22 year member of the Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge and a former member of the M.S.A.D. #48 Teacher Association.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Rebecca D. Oliver of Plymouth, four sons Matthew Williams of Plymouth, Randy Oliver of Bangor, Randy Riel-Oliver of Plymouth, Richard Riel-Oliver of Plymouth, three daughters Lynette Oliver, Rachel Riel-Oliver, Rebecca Riel-Oliver all of Plymouth, one brother Stanley (Skip) Dunakin of Florida, six sisters; Marybeth of Plymouth, Sharon of Florida, Sandy of Florida, Peggy of Florida, Beverly of Conn., Barbara of New Jersey, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His brother Neil predeceased him in 2004. He will also be remembered by three special friends, Paul Whitney, Ken Perry, and Dick Smith.

At his request there are no public services or visiting hours. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Penobscot County Dare Program or to the Nokomis High School Scholarship program in his memory.
