RITA IRENE HOPKINS
ATKINSON- Rita Irene Hopkins, 67, died December 7, 2011, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born August 2, 1944, in Corinth, daughter of Robert and Maude (Ellis) Arnold.

Rita loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and watching the birds. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who called her Meme.

She is survived by 4 children, Michael Sawyer and his companion, Holly Woodard of Abbot; Dianna Corson and her husband, Kenneth of Sebec, Terry Sawyer and his wife, Bridget of Guilford, and Danny Sawyer Jr. of Dover-Foxcroft; 3 brothers, Robert Arnold Jr., Elroy Arnold, and Raymond Arnold and his wife, Sharon all of Monson; 3 sisters, Leatha Wheeler and her husband, Marvin of Corinth, Lorraine Kallio and her husband, Jack, and Rachel Hartwell and her companion, Ernest Freeman, all of NH; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Loretta Grindal and her husband, Rick of Carmel

Friends and family are invited to a gathering from 2 to 6 PM, Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the home of Mike and Holly at 43 Main Road in Abbot.
