ROBERT E. PEARSON
CORINNA - Robert E. Pearson, 81, died May 28, 2009 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born July 9, 1927 in Corinna a son of Roy and Carrie (Eastman) Pearson. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1945; Maine Maritime Academy, Class of 1947; and the University of Maine at Orono, class of 1951. Bob worked briefly for the Farmer's Home Administration and also served in the U. S. Naval Reserve. Arlene and Bob ran the family heating and hardware business for many years, until they retired in 1984. He was a member of the Masons, Order of The Eastern Star, the Maine Maritime Academy Alumni Association, and attended the Corinna United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by 2 daughters, Janice Smith of Massapequa, NY, and Glenburn, and Nancy and husband Kirby Collins of Anna, Texas; a sister, Virginia Haseltine of Orrington; and 4 grandchildren, Jason and Zachary Smith, Marissa and Kira Collins; and 2 great grand-daughters, Jillian and Summer Smith. Bob was predeceased by his brother James Pearson in 2007.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, June 4th at the Corinna United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Morse's Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the Maine Maritime Academy Alumni Association, P. O.
