ROGER S. COLE, SR
NEWPORT—Roger S. Cole, Sr., 78, died May 18, 2011, at a Waterville nursing home. He was born November 16, 1932 in Albion, a son of Ruben and Bertha (Webber) Cole. He had been employed for over 23 years for the Town of Newport, retiring in 2005.

He is survived by 3 sons, Timothy and wife Stacey Cole of Doswell, VA, Roger Cole, Jr. of Canaan, and Steven Cole of China; 4 daughters, Sally Funk of Meriden, CT, Martha Rowe of Palmyra, Marlena Vanadestine of Pittsfield, and Natalie Labbe of Shawmut; 2 brothers, Richard Cole of Albion and Thomas Cole of Oakland; 2 sisters, Beverly Hayes and Jennie Gould both of Albion; 23 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Helen in 1993.

A memorial service will be held 9 A.M. Wednesday, May 25th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
