ROY E. FAIRBROTHER He served in the U S Navy in the North Atlantic and Pacific Theaters during WWII. Roy worked as a machinist for the Tannery in Dover-Foxcroft and later in his own shop in Guilford. He designed and built the machines that have been used by Northeast Log Homes in Kenduskeag for cutting and shaping logs. He and his wife, Barbara were avid square dancers, and were members of the Lords and Ladies Square Dance Club, and the National Square Dance Campers Association. He was a 50 year member of Mt. Kineo Masonic Lodge #109 in Guilford, and a 65 year member of the Valley Grange #144. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Leighton) Fairbrother in 2001. He is survived by a son, David Fairbrother of Guilford; three daughters and their husbands, Judy and Charles Dunehew of IL, Kathy and Larry Stoddard of Scarborough, and Sandy and Rod Ayers of RI; 5 grandchildren, Bruce Dunehew and his wife, Jacqueline of NC, Joshua Ayers of Westbrook, Allyson Ayers of RI, and Kimberley Stoddard and Stephanie Stoddard both of Scarborough; 3 great grandchildren, Jaiden, Bram, and Jadzia. Friends may call at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak Street in Guilford, Monday, November 15, 2010, from 2 to 4, and 6 to 8 PM, with Masonic services at 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, at 11 AM, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford.
