RUTH F. SHAW
ETNA – Ruth F. Shaw, 83, died June 3, 2003 at a Bangor hospital. She was born December 31, 1919 at Plymouth the daughter of Gustavis and Josie (Meader) Hopkins. She graduated from Cony High School, Class of 1938. On May 5, 1939 she married Winfield E. Shaw, who predeceased her January 15, 1988. She will be remembered for babysitting area children for many years. She also enjoyed quilting, camping and gardening.

She is survived by a son, David and wife Eileen Shaw of Bristol, NH; 2 daughters, Ruth Elaine Tibbetts of St. Albans, Jane and husband Michael McMorrow of Newport; a sister Lila Ludden of Plymouth; 6 grandchildren, Charlene Gray, Penney Metivier, Sue Alma, Sonja Fjeld, Christopher and Jenny Shaw; 5 great grandchildren.

There will be no visiting hours. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held 2 P.M. Friday, June 6th, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna. Memorial donations may be made to the Pittsfield Animal Shelter, R.R. # 1; Box 3965; Pittsfield, ME 04967. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport.
