SHARON AVERILL (BONSEY) BLOCKLER
Sharon was raised in Dover-Foxcroft and graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1960. She worked for her father as a secretary for the family business, Bonsey Brothers, until opening her own business, Mama B's Pizza. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and an active parent in all her children's activities, including Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was also an active 4-H leader for many years. She could always be found ringside at local horse shows and was a leader and working member of Dirigo Horseman's Association.
Sharon was a devoted daughter, wife and mother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Nathan Blockler; children, Lorrie Blockler, Richard Blockler, Gerald Blockler and his wife, Shelly, Daniel Blockler, and Patricia Nutter and her husband, Derrick; grandchildren, Michael, Nathaniel, Scott and his friend, Amber, Matthew and his fiancee, Kirsten, Morgan Blockler and Hailey Nutter; a great-granddaughter, Brooklynne Blockler; a brother, Ernest Bonsey and his wife, Diane; a nephew, Michael Bonsey; and nieces, Gayle Bonsey, Debra Hayes and her husband, Scott, Pamela Richardson and her husband, Kenneth, and Melissa Ware and her husband, Doug.
Sharon will be remembered by her large extended family and many close friends.
Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev. Kent Ouellette, celebrant. Burial will be in the family lot at Rural Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter, 170 Route 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, ME 04105.
