SHIRLEY- Shirley M. Turner, 84, died July 7, 2010, at C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville. She was born July 27, 1925, in Locks Mills, daughter of Charles A. and Doris M. (Goodwin) Perry.

She graduated from Yarmouth Academy, Class of 1944. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Shirley and the Shirley Community Church. She was always active in helping with church functions, suppers, etc. She worked for Stover Atlas Plywood, Moosehead Manufacturing in Monson, and various part-time work in Greenville after her retirement.

Her family has many fond memories of her going berry picking and working in her flower and vegetable garden. She will be missed by her family, her many friends and her special cat, Mindy.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Lee C. Turner, in the spring of this year. She was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Perry Jr.

She is survived by 3 sons, David, Albert, and Daniel, all of Shirley; 1 daughter, Gail Downie of Sangerville; 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, Alissa, and Joey; a half sister, Carolyn Briggs of CA; several nieces; and a cousin.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Shirley Community Church. Friends may call at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Shirley Cemetery.
