STEPHEN A. FOWLER, SR.
WEST COVINA, Calif. and EAST CORINTH - Stephen A. Fowler Sr., 57, died Dec. 16, 2003, at UCLA Medical Center. He was born Aug. 8, 1946, in Bangor, the son of Ethridge and Josephine Fowler. He graduated from East Corinth Academy, Class of 1964. He then served with the Air National Guard for six years. In 1969 with his wife and two young sons he moved to California for a chance to get to know his father. He worked as an electrician and then in sales before finding his true career in law enforcement. He was a retired Sargent for Irwindale Police Department. After his retirement he continued working in the private sector of law enforcement until his death. He and his wife spent many wonderful summers in Maine, especially at Beech Hill Pond.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susanne; son, Steve Jr. and his wife, Michelle, and daughter, Nicole, of Glendora, Calif.; son, Scott and his wife, Theresa, and their sons, Alexander, Derek, and Brad of Ontario, Calif.; sister, Judy York and her husband, Jim, of Connecticut, and their three sons and their families; and a brother, Richard and his wife, Barbara, and their three daughters and their families of Nova Scotia; very special mother-in-law, Lillian Craig of East Corinth.

He missed saying goodbye to all his friends and relatives but his family hopes that you will remember him as someone very special. Steve received a heart transplant on Aug. 29, 1999, at UCLA Medical Center. Donations in his memory may be made to Gift of the Heart, 100 UCLA Medical Plaza, Suite 600, Los Angeles, CA 90095.
