TELFORD M. ALLEN, JR.
He was always interested in aviation and earned his pilot's license at the young age of 17 and started his flying career as a bush pilot for Folsom's Air Service in Greenville. In 1982, he founded Telford Aviation, Inc, an international aviation services company. Telford was very active in both local and aviation organizations. He was one of the founding members and current director of the International Seaplane Fly-In which is held at Moosehead Lake each September. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and son. He was predeceased by his wife, Pamela (McIver) Allen in 2009.
He is survived by his mother, Charlotte of Falmouth; 2 sons, Telford Allen III and his wife, Karen, and Travis Allen, all of Hampden; 2 brothers, Peter Allen and his wife, Patty of NH, and Thomas Allen and his wife, Aileen of Bath; 2 sisters, Lynn Rucci and her husband, Sebastian of NJ, and Liz Allen of CA; his loving companion, Natalie Holmes-Moody of Rockwood; 5 grandchildren, Samantha, Garrett, Kaytlin, Ashton, and Erica Rose.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Friday, August 6th, at the Greenville Chapel of Crosby & Neal, (located at the Masonic Hall), 281 Pritham Avenue in Greenville. Private services are being held for family members only. A celebration of his life will be held during the Fly-In, Saturday, September 11th, at the Telford Hangar in Greenville, at a time that will be announced.
