UMBERTO MEZZETTA
GUILFORD, Umberto Mezzetta, 92, died October 14, 2002, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born January 11, 1910, in Queens, New York, son of Joseph and Febornia Mezzetta. He served in the 512th field Artillery during WWII. In 1954 he moved to Proctor, Vermont and was a member of the American Legion Post #100 in Montpelier, Vermont. Umberto relocated to Guilford in 1983. He was predeceased by his son, Robert John Mezzetta in 1971 and his wife, Emma (Hermans) Mezzetta in 1977.

He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Lois and Thomas Hale of Grand Rapids, Michigan; two grandchildren, Christine and her husband David Abbey of Kentwood, Michigan and Thomas Robert and his wife, Melissa Hale of Sparta, Michigan; a great granddaughter, Marlo Kathrine Abbey; a sister, Maria Mezzetta of Roslyn Heights, New York; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford, with prayer services at 7 PM. Burial will be in the Proctor Cemetery in Proctor, Vermont.
