WEBBER J. MASON
DEXTER, Webber J. Mason, 83, died March 13, 2002 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born January 24, 1919 in Airmo, Idaho son of Charles and Gertrude (Hanson) Mason. He graduated from N.H. Fay High School in Dexter and from the University of Maine in Orono. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.After the Army he attended Brown University and George Washington University. Webber served at the U.S. Embassy in Washington D.C. and in several foreign countries. After 15 years, he retired from Foreign Service and purchased a farm in St. Albans and later a dairy farm in Corinna.

He is survived by a brother and his wife, Glen and Secha Mason of Skowhegan; two sisters-in law, Vivian Mason of Newport and Estelle Mason of Corinna; several special nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors that looked after him and will miss him and his beautiful flower gardens that he loved so much.

Friends may call Saturday, March 16, 2002 from 1-3 pm at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter where funeral services will follow at 3 pm with Rev. Al Worden officiating. Spring burial will be in the Village Cemetery in St. Albans. Those who wish may make donations to the charity of their choice.
