WOODROW L. STROBLE He was born on July 1, 1940, in Williamson, NY to Woodrow W. and Esther (Hall) Stroble. He attended Williamson Central School, graduating in 1958. He earned a PhD. in American Literature from SUNY Binghamton. When he retired in 2004, he was the Director of Institutional Technology and Research at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. In retirement, he followed in Thoreau’s footsteps and went to the woods because he wished to live life deliberately. He will be greatly missed in person, but never far from our hearts in spirit. He leaves behind his wife, Lucy Plyter Stroble, his daughter, Suzy Stroble Kaback, her husband Steve, and their two children, Will and Lindsay, and his son, Jonathan Stroble, and his wife, Stacey.
