A recent letter by Jeff Keyte dated 11 June (Letters To The Editor) relating to where Dexter Shoes are made. It's unfortunate that the previous letter by Stacy was correct. Many Dexter shoes are made in China and have been for many years. If I'm not mistaken the Chinese were trained by our now former Dexter employees in Dexter before closing the plant. Yes, we are going through some rough times and will for some time to come. You can thank the spineless officials we elect for the current situation we are in. GREED is the motivating factor and this country is leading the way. If none of us could see this coming then we are blind or choose not to accept reality as it is. I can only hope Dexter will somehow rebound from the loss. Yes I too remember when the real Dexter Shoes were only made in Dexter, Maine USA....

What a nice service! OK serious question here-retired early, like peace and quiet, like the outdoors and have disposable income of 3,000 a month-no outside debt etc. so is the cost of living there really high?
Would it be possible to rent a decent place for a year or so to see if we want to stay? Am impressed by the schools as we are raising a young grandson and the schools here are lacking to the point that a lot of folks are usung private schools.

Hello to all of my cousins in D-F. I have a solution to your deer and coyote problem. You send us some coyotes and you can have all of our deer that you can round up. They're like giant rats, they destroy everything around here including cars and the people driving them. The tree huggers get upset if we hunt them, so we need something to restore our natural balance of predators to reduce our population of about 100 per sq. mile.

You are doing a great job with the web page. I left Dexter at age eleven in 1966.
In 1967 I had a horse riding accident while riding with Karen Cochrane and another friend. But I am fully recovered and Dexter still brings fond memories. I would have been in the DHS class of 1975. I would be very interested to hear from some of my old friends and classmates.
I travel to Dexter around once a year. Some may remember my mom, Carmel Boyd, a teacher at Spring Street and Pleasant St Schools ( who is still substitute teaching at age 73) as well as my late dad, Joe Boyd Sr. who worked at Plummer Memorial as an X-Ray Tech. We lived on Free Street across the street from Jerry Abbott and down the street from my life long friend John Reed (his father owned Reed's Footwear and Clothing)If any one remembers, don't hesitate to drop an email.
Look forward from hearing from you and possibly seeing you in the future

"Hey" to everyone in Dexter. Hope all is well. I hear you got some serious snow up there......well, you're used to it, right? Here in Allentown, PA, we've only had about 6 inches so far this winter. I hate snow, so I'm happy about that!!! I am wondering if there are any plans being made for the 20th reunion of the class of '82. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate an e-mail about it. Much love to all my dear friends and family.

Well hello there from down South. We had our first snow showers today which dropped nearly four inches and shut down the city. I still laugh about this but do not miss the Northern weathers.
It appears our winter has just begun as another front will make it's way in this weekend.
If anyone sees my dad tell him I say hello as he is the one that walks the town nearly five times a day. Great for him however his son should pick up the habit as well.
Three classes left for my Associates and than it is on to better things and higher education as well. I can't wait!!! The winter semester begins next Monday and do wish me the best of luck.
The marriage plans are going well and my fiancee and I are doing better than ever. WE are begging to look for that new home as well.
