Guilford, ME Hey! Hope everyone had as wonderful Christmas as our family!

Does anyone out there know what ever happened to Bethany Gray that went to middle school until the sixth or seventh grade? She lived two housed past T&L's on Route 23 in Sangerville. I really would like to hear from her. She was such a great friend to me, Dora, Mary, Phil, Puggy, and Debbie. If anyone knows, please email me! Peace, love and happiness........Julie Porter

Newhall, IA Thought i would write and give you all some general information on your home computers and Y2K.
You may have already done this and if so its for those who havent.
Go to my computer on your PC,double click on control panel, next double click on regional settings,Next click on the date tab,If your computer is set on the microsoft default setting it will show only a two digit year , for example 11/22/99. You need to click on this down arrow to the right of the year shown and select the four digit year. Save this change and you will be fine with the changeover.(It is possible that you will lose some of the installed programs under the old default settings.) You will just have to re-install them under the new date settings.
Hope this helps some of you back home.

Just saw Miss Elizabeth Call's obituary and like many of you was surprised that she had still been around this long and a little ashamed that I hadn't gone to see her when I was in Dexter back in Aug. 1998. I'd like to suggest to all of you that when at a local nursing home visiting taking the time to check the patients list and see whose day you could make a little brighter.
I think of Miss Call every time I make a cursive capital letter. She wouldn't have att all been happy with my general penmanship but because of her I can do it right if I try.
I hope the Dexter schools still give as excellent an education as they used to.

Although Ames has good sales, and products, I find that the stores in my area are very unorganized, and ths
no matter what Ames you go into, they always have to call for price checks, and customers end up waiting in long lines
for a great deal of time. Does Ames have a vision to make shopping in your stores a more efficient, and timely
experience for thier customers?

Thanks Pat

Asheville, NC Just returned form Ragged Lake (N of Greenville). We have a camp there and visit each summer. I decided to go again this fall and take pictures of the fall colors. Didn't anticipate the "big-hunt". I love to visit Maine and photograph all the wonderful sights. Although I am not an anti-hunter, I was somewhat taken back by the number of dead moose. I didn't take any pictures of the dead animals. I prefer to photograph them standing. I always enjoy your town and usually buy a pair or two of Dexter shoes (I enjoyed the outlet store better when it was at the factory; I wish they would stock more size 15 shoes). The people in your town have always been very friendly. Anyway, I heard that 776 moose were tagged on Monday. I would be interested in the final count. We will be at camp next summer. I hope to still see a few moose. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Tom Noblett

Dreadful! As I read through the horoscopes (purely for entertainment purposes), I see they are full of swear words that I don't believe are necessary. Very trashy!
Overall, very poor performance.

Williamstown, VT My maternal grandfather (Arthur Skelton), ggf (John Skelton) and gggf (Frederick Skelton) all lived and ran businesses in Dexter during the 1800's. We are presently researchng their ancestry. I'd greatly appreciate any information anyone could pass along to us. Also, I have come into possession of an old, wooden sign (11' long) which has the words "Dexter House" in old, crackled paint. I believe this came from the old hotel in Dexter of the same name. Anyone interested in communicating with me regarding this historical item can reach me via e-mail. We hope to revisit Dexter later this summer. Regards, rlw

Allentown, PA Hello Dexter ! This is one of my favorite websites to visit, although I often feel rather homesick after reading the page. I was sorry to read that Bruce Rolfe passed away. We were neighbors of the Rolfes for several years during my childhood, and spent many long summer evenings playing hide-and-seek outdoors with the Rolfe children. What memories!
You're doing an excellent job with this website, Judy! I appreciate being able to "go home for a visit" anytime I have the urge to do so!
I also want to mention that I purchased a very interesting book while I was home in November......it is about the history of Dexter, and is authored by Frank Spizuoco. I truly enjoyed reading the book, and learned many facts about Dexter in the "olden days". By the way, I wonder where Frank's daughter, Anne, is now. I love hearing from former classmates, so if you're out there, Anne, drop me a line sometime :-)
